Total storage space turns out to be 0

Publication Date:  2013-07-31 Views:  186 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
After server reboot, we find the total storage space turns out to be 0, as below. While, by searching for the video record, the result shows that the video record service is normal. In other words, we can add new video record into the disk. But, if we want to assign new storage space for new camera, the system will prompt “there is not enough storage space”.
Alarm Information
Handling Process
We can simply solve this problem by refreshing the storage space manually on the IVS client. Remember, we can only refresh the space on mu basis. In other words, we must refresh the storage space for each mu one by one.
Root Cause
Cause Analysis:
1. Ssh into the server and check the disk status by the commands of “fdisk-l” and “df -h”. The result shows that all the disks are working normally.
2. Check the RecordFilePath field in the file of ivs_mru_record.conf in the directory of /home/ivsmu/mru/conf. It’s also normal.
3. Click the refresh button as shown below, the total storage space recovers.

The root cause for this problem is:
When the server reboots, the ivs service process will be run ahead of the disk mounting. So, when the service detects the storage space, the storage disks have not been mounted yet and the detected space will be 0. After disk mounting, the service will not detect the space again except refreshing it manually on the IVS client. While, the problem will not affect the video recording.
