The disk in slot X is broken, 1 global spare disk is used.
Alarm for HDD faulty in MEGARAID storage manager.
It is necesarry to collect logs from that machine:
Methods of Collecting Log Information for HDP3500 is:
Click Start > Run, and enter cmd. Run the hdplog command on the CLI.
The collected log information is saved in the directory D:\HDP3500_Logs.
After you will replace the faulty disk please follow the below procedure:
1. Input MegaCli.exe –adpsetprop –copybackdsbl -0 –a0 , to enable Copyback fuction.
2. Input MegaCli.exe –pdcpybk –start –physdrv [8:15,8:4] –a0 , to start copyback operation. (8:15 was the hotspare disk and replaced
8:4 , after disk replacement, we copy data on 8:15 back to new disk 8:4)
3. Check MegaRAID Storage Manager tool, during copyback process, there is a small icon on the upper right of slot 4 drive such as below picture. The copyback process may last for several hours.
4. After the small icon disappear, it means the copyback process end. Now we should set disk 15 to spare disk .
Select disk 15, choose Make Global Hotspare in Operation page.
Hard disk must to replaced asap.
After replace the faulty disk it is necesary to copy data from disk - sparedisk- back to new hard disk .
From this model HDP3500, this ISM function - SMTP trapping
- doesn’t work.
