Handling Process

In this interface mode, only one interface transmits services at one time.
When the primary interface works properly, it transmits all the traffic. Backup interfaces do not transmit services even if the primary interface is overloaded because they are set to Down by the system.
When the primary interface fails, the backup interface with the highest priority starts to transmit services.
When the primary interface recovers, traffic is switched back to the primary interface.
Switchover delay is the duration of the hot-standby interface switchover. Switchover delay avoids the instability resulting from frequent switchover between the primary interface and the backup interface.

Root Cause
