Issue Description

The customer noticed that on several  AR1220 routers (V200R003C01SPC900 + CP0010)  the DHCP commands entered are disappearing from the config after a short time.

The commands that often disappears  from the current configuration:

Dhcp enable
Interface vlanif 1
Dhcp select relay
dhcp relay server-ip x.x.x.x
dhcp relay server-ip x.x.x.x

Handling Process

Please check if the auto-config is enabled with display autoconfig enable. The autoconfig feature gets in conflict with DHCP configurations and that is why are lost in current-configuration.

When users log in to the new device or devices with no startup configuration files through the console interface, the system prompts the following information: "Auto-Config is working. Before configuring the device, stop Auto-Config. If you perform configurations when Auto-Config is running, the DHCP, routing, DNS, and VTY configurations will be lost.

Root Cause

Autoconfig feature was enabled on the AR1220 which forced DHCP commands to be lost.

To disable auto-config functionality you can use undo autoconfig enable
