Error while creating VM’s

Issue Description

An error appeared when creating VMs: Failed to add VMs to a domain, Please check whether the AD and DNS are normal in the system alarm module.

Handling Process

- First check the network connection between the Fusion Access and the DHCP.




- in this case the problem  due to wrong DHCP “Scope Options” setting, the customer set many public DNS server IPs, some of the DNS servers are external ;
After the user VM get IP address, the VM will join domain, in this step, the VM will refer to DNS to resolve the domain name, but all the public DNS server IPs are not reachable at all, so the VM can't resolve the domain name correctly, that is why VM creating failed, after we remove the public DNS server IPs from the DHCP “Scope Options”-> ”006 DNS servers”, the problem resolved.

Root Cause

The customer set many public DNS server IPs, some of the DNS servers are external.

Solution

After we remove the public DNS server IPs from the DHCP “Scope Options”-> ”006 DNS servers”, the problem resolved.
