Configuring a System Data Storage Pool fro S2600T NAS

Publication Date:  2015-04-15 Views:  456 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

Configure the SAN+NAS using the "Unified Storage Deployment"

After configuration is complete, mount 3 LUNs of 100MB for Quoram disks. the commands are available in the document and it works fine.

To configure the LUNs for the File System Data Storage Pool to be used by "_nlm_ and _LogFs_", 2*80GB LUNs must be mapped to the File Engine.

According to the hedEx file "OceanStor S2200T&S2600T&S5500T&S5600T&S5800T&S6800T Product Documentation V100R005 09 (2014-11-15)", the following must be done:
  1. login to CLI of NAS using master/Master@storage;
  2. enter "storage" to go into storage mode;
  3. enter "init create meta_pool disk1,disk2" where disk1 and disk2 are the names of the two 80GB LUNs. After this command is executed the LUNs should be configured.
Practically, the NAS of S2600T does not run the command "storage init create". When you try to run this command an error message will be displayed stating that this command is not supported. So the above mentioned procedure is ineffective.

Alarm Information

An alarm is generated in the ISM if the File system for logs is not mounted.

Handling Process

create a 170 GB LUN and map it to the File Engines. After that run "scanbus" from "Storage Resources > Data Disks". After the 170GB LUN is added in the datadisks of the File Engine, wait for a few minutes. The file system automatically picks up this storage space as the file system data storage pool. After this the alarm also disappears and the logs storage space is set.
