Failure for a User to Leave a Voice Message on the UMS

Publication Date:  2015-04-21 Views:  459 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

The call transfer to voice mailbox on no reply (CTVMNR) service allows a call destined for a registered user to be forwarded automatically to the Unified Message System (UMS) if this user does not answer the call. Then calling party can leave messages as prompted.

However, the called party's phone rings but the calling party does not hear the UMS announcement "Leave your message after the beep sound."

Handling Process

Step 1 View the SoftCo logs. It is found that the calling number sent to the UMS is the called number, resulting in outgoing call failure.

Step 2 Run the config softargu type 269 value 0 command to set the software parameter 269 to 0.

Root Cause

The possible cause is that the outgoing call fails. The calling number sent to the UMS is the called party's number, which is caused by enabling the software parameter 269 (setting the value to 1). This problem has been solved in SoftCo V100R002C04SPC900 after the value of software parameter 269 is modified. This modification does not affect the CTVMNR service.
