Failure of Analog Phones Under the AR to Register with the SoftCo

Publication Date:  2015-07-16 Views:  545 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

Networking: SoftCo --> AR1220 --> Analog phone

The AR1220 functions as an SIP access gateway and its foreign exchange station (FXS)/foreign exchange office (FXO) interface is connected to analog phones. Both the AR1220 and analog phones fail to register with the SoftCo.

Handling Process

Step 1 Verify that all configurations on the AR1220 are correct.

Accounts and SIG access gateway functions have been configured on the AR1220, as shown in the following:

About AR sipag configuration:
sipag 1
signalling-ip 192.168.1.x // AR IP address
signalling-port 5060
media-ip 192.168.1.x // AR IP address
primary-proxy-ip 17.10.40.x  // SoftCo IP address
primary-proxy-port 5060
sipaguser 70000   //SoftCo account
port 2/0/*         // Ports to connect the analog phones
base-telno 70000
mgid 1
Then restart the sipag 1:
sipag 1

Step 2 Run the config softargu type 286 value 0 command to change the value of the 286 software parameter from 1 (default) to 0, enabling non-Huawei device registration. Note that by default the SoftCo regards the AR1200 as a non-Huawei device.

Root Cause

1.  The AR1220 does not send a standard SIP message for registering with the SoftCo.

2.  The SoftCo does not support AR registration.

1.  SIP messages sent by the AR must comply with international standards.

2.  If the SoftCo does not support SIP registration of non-Huawei devices, users need to manually change the 286 software parameter value.
