Failure to Create a RAID Group on the OMU Portal

Issue Description

A user fails to create a RAID group on the OMU portal of the server.

Handling Process

Step 1 Check whether there are less than four disks.
1. Log in to the OMU portal of the server.
2. Choose Local Configuration > Local Disk.
3. In the Disk status area, check the number of disks.
 If the number of disks is less than 4, add new disks and check whether the fault is rectified.
If the fault is rectified, no further action is required. If the fault persists, go to the next step.
 If the number of disks is equal to or greater than 4, go to the next step.
Step 2 Check whether a disk is faulty.
1. Log in to the server management page through the management port IP address of the server.
2. Choose Device Management > Disk Info and view disk status, as shown in Figure 6-7.

 If the Trouble Indicator parameter of a disk is OFF, contact Huawei technical support engineers.
 If the Trouble Indicator parameter of a disk is ON, go to the next step.
3. Locate and rectify the disk fault or replace the disk. Then create a RAID group again.
If the RAID group can be successfully created, no further action is required. If the RAID group fails to be created, contact Huawei technical support engineers.

Root Cause

 There are less than four disks.
 A disk is faulty.

The RAID to create requires at least four disks.
