Duplicate Alarms Are Frequently Reported

Publication Date:  2015-06-23 Views:  149 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

The same alarm is frequently reported on the eSpace IVS C/S client.

Handling Process

Step 1 Log in to the OMU portal of the server.
Step 2 Choose Maintenance > Unified Configuration. In the System Domains panel, select the domain where the device locates.
Step 3 Set Module name to SCU and Parameter type to Alarm property.
Step 4 Click Search. The page for setting AlarmHoldDuration is displayed, as shown in Figure 10-1.
Figure 10-1 Alarm suppression time

The parameter AlarmHoldDuration specifies the alarm suppression time. The SCU will not report the same alarm within the specified time. The default value is 30. A smaller value indicates that the same alarm will be reported more frequently.
Step 5 Properly set AlarmHoldDuration and check whether the fault is rectified.
If the fault is rectified, no further action is required. If the fault persists, contact Huawei technical support engineers.

Root Cause

The alarm suppression time is too short.
