An Error Message Is Displayed When the Windows OS Is Installed Using the ServiceCD

Issue Description
Hardware configuration:
RH2285 V2

Software configuration:
Baseboard management controller (BMC) 3.63, basic input/output system (BIOS) V036


When the Windows 2008 operating system (OS) is installed using the ServiceCD, the error message "Windows could not parse or process unattend answer file [C:\Windows\Panther\unattend.xml] for pass [specialize]. The answer file is invalid." is displayed, as shown in Figure 1.

Handling Process
Ensure that the host name contains not more than 15 characters.

Root Cause
The Windows OS has requirements on the host name length. A host name contains a maximum of 15 characters. When the OS is installed using the ServiceCD, the host name is set to the name that has more than 15 characters, as shown in Figure 2.

The host name length does not meet requirements, so the OS fails to be installed.
