An IPC Cannot Be Powered On After Being Connected to the ONU (MA5626)

Issue Description

Applicable Models:
All IPC models.


An IPC cannot be powered on after being connected to the ONU (MA5626). The ONU(MA5626) fails to supply power for the IPC through PoE.

Handling Process

Step 1 Connect another IPC that can normally power on to the ONU (MA5626) to check whether the IPC can power on.
  • If yes, replace the original IPC with a normal one.
  • If no, go to Step 2.
Step 2 Reconfigure the ONU (MA5626).

Adjust the following settings for the ONU (MA5626):
  • Set the PoE power supply mode to automatic.
  • Enable overtemperature protection.
  • Set the port power supply priority to Critical.
  • Set the power port output to a larger value.
  • Ground the ONU (MA5626) properly.

Step 3 Check whether the fault is rectified.
  • If yes, no further operation is required.
  • If no, contact your service provider for assistance.

Root Cause

The possible causes are as follows:
  • The IPC is faulty.
  • The PoE function of the ONU is faulty.
  • There is a grounding problem on the IPC.
