Issue Description

How Do APs Obtain the AC IP Address? What Is the Recommended Method?

Solution

APs obtain the AC IP address from Layer 2 CAPWAP broadcast packets, Option 43 in Layer 3 packets, or DNS server. The AC IP address can also be configured on APs.

The Option 43 mode is recommended. This is because it is not restricted by Layer 2 networks and no DNS server is required.
