The task was to config sending traps from S5720HI switch V200R007C00SPC500 to NMS host via SNMPv3.
According product documentation the following config was done:
snmp-agent local-engineid 800007DB0394049CC80030
snmp-agent sys-info version v3
snmp-agent target-host trap address udp-domain 10.10.10.14 params securityname <username> v3 privacy
snmp-agent usm-user v3 <username>
snmp-agent usm-user v3 <username> group <groupname>
snmp-agent usm-user v3 <username> authentication-mode sha cipher <password>
snmp-agent usm-user v3 <username> privacy-mode aes128 cipher <password>
snmp-agent trap source Vlanif10
snmp-agent trap enable
We used privacy: bout authentication and encryption. At host 10.10.10.14 capturing via WireShark was running.
At switch some traps were emulated (like shutdowning interface). But at capture there was no reaction.
No special alarms appeared.
1. Authentication and encryption password
2. username and params securityname must be the same
3. Switch and NMS host network connection
4. Check once documentation and examples
Two extra command must be added to snmp section config
snmp-agent group v3 grhuawei privacy read-view isoview write-view isoview notify-view isoview
snmp-agent mib-view included isoview iso
Add additional commands. Even you don't need to restrict by excluded | included mib you need to config notify-view to receive traps.
Study product documentation more carefully, study configuration examples.
