AR3200 router don't see Nexus 3064 via lldp

Issue Description

 We have AR3260 router with  software V200R005C20SPC200 and directly connected xxxx 3063 switch.

On both devices lldp feature is on. Connectivity is OK.


From AR after apply command:  display lldp neighbours brief    we see no neighbours.

Alarm Information

This  message appear at console and logs

Jul  9 2015 13:05:51+00:00 AR3260_GOSB_SEC %%01LLDP/4/BAD_PACKET(l)[89]:

4 invalid packets were received after latest notification. The last invalid packet came from interface XGigabitEthernet0/0/0.


Handling Process

The Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) is a vendor-neutral link layer protocol,  regulated by IEEE 802.1AB.

So it was supposed that it will not be any problem with Huawei and xxxx interaction via lldp.

Nexus switch can see Huawei device normal.


At AR side we turned  on  debugging lldp and analyzed information.


From debug we see, that AR receives illegal OUI form C vendor devise.

[LLDP_OUI_IsPacketValid] get illegal OUI(00 1b 21).



Root Cause

[LLDP_OUI_IsPacketValid] get illegal OUI(00 1b 21).


There is a new OIU 001b21 in LLDP we can’t compatible now.


TAC promised to fix it into next business patch in two months.


 Wait for next patch for AR series routers to be compatible with Nexus via lldp protocol.
