Publication Date:  2015-07-31 Views:  111 Downloads:  0
Issue Description
Products and versions:

VTL3500 V100R002
VTL6000 V100R003

If the hosted backup function is in use, after the VTL operating system restarts, the robot arm and the drive become Missing on the NetBackup Administration Console and the backup task fails as a result.
Handling Process
1.  In the navigation tree of the NetBackup Administration Console, choose Device > Robot.

2.  Right-click Robot and choose Stop/Restart to restart the Robot service.
Root Cause
When the VTL operating system is restarting, it takes more time for the VTL server to restart than the NetBackup service. Then the NetBackup service cannot detect the VTL server.
