When you reclaim the SIR data disk space, a log is displayed stating SIR: index Reclamation did not complete. Reclaiming the SIR data disk space fails.
Handling Process
1. Check whether the VTL server has VITs.
If yes, keep the application environment unchanged and seek technical support.
If no, go to 2.
2. Create VITs on the VTL server.
a. On the VTL Console, log in to the VTL server.
b. Create a tape.
c. Back up data to the created tape.
d. Deduplicate the tape.
e. Reclaim the SIR data disk space.
3. On the SIR Statistics tab page, check whether the SIR data disk space is reclaimed.
If yes, the fault is rectified.
If no, keep the application environment unchanged and seek technical support.
Root Cause
Possible Causes:
The possible cause of this failure is that the VTL server does not have VITs.
After deduplication, the VTL server must store at least one deduplicated tape. Otherwise, reclaiming data disk space will fail.
