The remote control of an RP series system is not responsive.
Step 1 Make sure the infrared transmission area is facing the telepresence system.
Stay within 6 meters of the RP series system, and point the infrared transmission area (shown in Figure 6-7) of the remote control to the infrared receiver (shown in Figure 6-8) in the RP series system. Test some keys on the remote to see if it is responsive.

If the remote control is still not responsive, go to step 2.
Step 2 Turn off the tubes in the conference room. Use the method described in step 1 to operate the remote control.
If the remote control becomes responsive, the tubes are interfering with the infrared reception. In this case, replace the tubes.
If the remote control is still not responsive, go to step 3.
Step 3 Verify that the infrared cables are connected according to Figure 6-9.
Ensure that the RJ45 port is connected to the COM1 port on the RP series system.

If the remote control is still not responsive, go to step 4.
Step 4 Remove the infrared cables from the RP series system, as shown in Figure 6-10. Use the method described in step 1 to operate the remote control within 6 meters of the RP series system.
If the remote control becomes responsive, the infrared receiver delivered with the RP series system may be incorrectly installed. If this is the case, install the infrared receiver according to Figure 6-11.
If the remote control is still not responsive, go to step 5.

Step 5 Take photos of the conference room. Send them to the R&D department in Huawei HQ.
Sources of interference include ambient lights and plasma displays.
The infrared transmission area of the remote is not pointing at the telepresence system.
Ambient lights are interfering with the remote control signals.
The plasma display is interfering with the remote control signals.
