Air Content Sharing issue: presentation is displayed as a scrambled image

Publication Date:  2015-09-16 Views:  1073 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

The TE30 endpoint was upgraded to the latest firmware version (V100R001C10SPC300) and when the Air Content Sharing client was used it was discovered that the presentation shared to the remote side could not be seen properly (the image was scrambled).

Handling Process

The image was scrambled when seen on the administrative web page of the device (Device Control -> Video Control -> Local Presentation).

However, on the laptop using the Air Content Sharing Client the file used for the presentation did not show any abnormalities.

Checked the video resolution of the laptop and discovered it was at the maximum (1366 x 768).

When the resolution was lowered to the recommended one (1024 x 768 the presentation recovered and the image was displayed correctly

Root Cause

The Air Content Sharing client support coded transmission resolutions of 720p and 1024 x 768 pixels and a maximum frame rate of 15 fps.

If a higher value is set on the computer/laptop used to share a presentation the device will not support it thus the image will be scrambled

Changing the resolution to the recommended one (1024 x 768) solved this particular issue.

Since Huawei has multiple endpoints and each of them have different performances, please see below a list with resolution that can be supported on Huawei endpoints
