FAQ: The Client Decoding Performance of VCN3000

Issue Description

Sometimes we want to know the general capability of live video channels on the IVS client.


If the Client Specifications of PC is as beow,

      Operating system: Windows 7 or 8 (32/64-bit)

      CPU: Intel quad-core 3.2 GHz or above (recommended model: Intel Core i5 second-generation)

      Video RAM: 1.0 GB (recommended model: GeForce GTX 550 Ti)

      Memory: 3 GB or above

      Hard disk: 500 GB or above

      Network port: at least one 1000 Mbit/s port

      Monitor: at least 21.5 inch (recommended resolution: 1920 x 1080)

Here lists the numbers of live video channels at different resolutions in H.264 format.


CIF (512 kbit/s)

4CIF/D1(2 Mbit/s)

720p (2 Mbit/s @ 30 fps)

1080p (4 Mbit/s @ 30 fps)

> 1080p(2048 x 1536, 8 Mbit/s @ 25 fps)

Number of Decoding Channels






The decoding performance is measured under the following conditions:

  • The CPU usage or memory usage does not exceed 85%.
  • The average start time of 10 times of live video viewing does not exceed 3s.
  • The delay of the live video viewing does not exceed 300 ms.
  • The frame rate does not exceed 30 fps.
