When rebooting the server RH2288H V3 and starting the KVM on iBMC to monitor the starting progress, OS will not start smoothly, and the system will enter the BIOS automatically with masked "****", we can see the picture below:
Firstly, we can connect the "serial port data" log on the iBMC portal, with the file, we can find the information as below:
We can also show the normal booting progress and the related information in the "serial port data" as below:
With the two pictures above, we took the action plan and got the related result below:
1. Start the server for the second time, but problem still happened, so it is not occasional case.
2. Change to the other client and then login the iBMC again to check the starting progress, but we still failed, so the environment(key in the keyboard) is normal
3. Change the setting "boot option" in the iBMC and start the server again, system will enter BIOS automatically without masked "****", the phenomenon is different from the original case, so it is not the setting problem in iBMC.
According to the root cause above, we can clear CMOS module of the iBMC system in order to clear the residual information in iBMC.
So, we can run the command below after login iBMC with CLI to clear CMOS module:
At last, we can restart the server again.
