Publication Date:  2016-05-26 Views:  805 Downloads:  0
Issue Description

"A reboot is scheduled, please reboot the system" comment in the Huawei SSD Utility, for ES3000

Handling Process

This comment could be caused by a "bit error" in the ES3000 card.

Logs should be generated under path, C:\Program Files(x86)\Huawei SSD\Utility, by running command:  HioLog.exe -d 0 -l 0

Check logs to see if fault <0x98>  SEU  is present.

Root Cause

From logs investigation, the comment which appears in the Huawei SSD Utility has been caused by a single bit stored incorrectly on the ES3000  card. However, the fault has been found as corrected:

[2016-05-02 16:29:31] (SN:%%%%%%%%%)  controller #0: <0x9b> info 0x54121df2  SEU fault address (low)
[2016-05-02 16:29:31] (SN:%%%%%%%%%)  controller #0: <0x9c> info 0x40380e  SEU fault address (high)
[2016-05-02 16:29:31] (SN:%%%%%%%%%)  controller #0: <0x98>  SEU fault (corrected)

Since the fault has corrected itself, there is no impact on the system. A reboot  is needed (when possible) for clearing the comment in Huawei SSD Utility.
