The customer want to set the SMTP settings on iBMC web interface, [Alarm & SEL] -> [Alarm Settings] -> [Alarm Email Notification Settings].
When they set the Address(email@example.com) on [Set Email Addresses for Receiving Alarms] and then click [save], the system can be operation successed.
But when they set the Address(firstname.lastname@example.org) on [Set Email Addresses for Receiving Alarms] and then click [save],the system can't be operation successed
1. The format of email address is correct and there's no invalid character in the email address.
2. We confirmed the setting screenshot, the operation procedure is also correct.
3. Compared the two email address, only differenece is the suffix. So, the problem is suffix doesn't match requirement.
The maximum suffix length of valid email address is 4, like .com, .net, .ro, .pl. ".local" doesn't match this requirement.
Change a valid email address.
