Issue Description

The customer has AR503 routers on the buses and the wants to know if he can track the with GPS coordinates and configure the router to send every minute a file with the coordinates.

Handling Process

1. Asked the customer for the firmware version

2. Asked for the full output of the command: display diagnostic-information so we can see what he already configured on the router.

Solution

I recommended to the customer to use the following configuration. There are 2 ways to track the buses using GPS:

First step will be to enable the GPS function on the router using this commands:

set location-mode gps

gps enable

After he enabled the GPS function he needs to configure the router like below:

1. Through SNMP protocol using the following MIBs:

For longitude the OID is: 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.31.1.1.16.1.

OCTET STRING

read-only

This object indicates the longitude
  of the device location.

This object is implemented as
defined in the corresponding MIB file.

For latitude the OID is 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.31.1.1.16.2.

2. Through sys log:

After the GPS function is enabled, using the gps log enable command, a log is generated every 30 seconds by default.
