There are two sites, and both sites have the save FusionSphere system. On the two site, we will create two UltraVR VM seperately and then build the DR system.
After creating the VMs and configure the IP with the same network segment, they can't ping to eachother
None
Check the VLAN configuration of the switch port, it is access port and with the same VLAN
Try to PING from the two VM to the gateway, and the communication is normal, we also try to PING from the two VM to other common VM, it is also normal.
Only the PING to each other between the two VM is abnormal.
Checking the local interface information, we found they have the same MAC for the management port as below:
The FusionSphere system was installed independently on the two sites, and there is the same MAC address pool. Because the MAC address pool configuration was not set seperately on the two sites, when creating user VM, it will get the same MAC address on the two site, then the communication between them will be abnormal.
This is the new environment, you can delete all the user VMs first, then set the MAC addreess pool on the two site to seperate them as below:
Then, create the new UltraVR VM to configure the DR business
