FAQ-How to Store and Retrieve Voice Mail from Hunting Group

Issue Description

User fail to store and retrieve the voice mail from the Hunting Group.

There are no MWI light indicator on the Ip phone to show new Voice Message.

Version of U1911 : V200R003C20SPC900

Version of the IP Phone eSpace 7910 : V200R003C00SPCb00


1) Configuration in IP phone for Hunting Group Voice Mail

Log into the eSpace 7910 IP phone with default User Name / Password.   admin / admin123

Go to Line & Programable Button

Choose one of the Programable Button and double click to enter the page.

Select "Hunting Group " and Enter the Hunting Group Access Code.


Next , go to enabe the Service Right :

User Must Enable the Service below :

Virtual Voice Mail : 12112  ( Prefix to retrieve the message from Voice Mail Server )

Voice Mail : 12112  ( Prefix to retrieve the message from Voice Mail Server )

Others Services : ( Depends on User Requirements )

Call Forward to Vociemail No Answer : Yes

Call Forward to Voicemail Busy : Yes

2) Configuration in eSpace U1911 for Hunting Group Voice Mail Box Number

Log into the U1911 Main Web page with the default User Name and Password.  admin / Change_Me 

Create a Hunting Group Prefix , Voice Mail Prefix & Intra Office

Prefix 12111 - To Store the Voice Mail

Prefix 12112 - To Retrieve the Voice Mail

Prefix 1 - Intra Office

Prefix 33 - Hunting Group Access

Create the VMS - Voice Mail Server

Choose Voice Mail type as Internal and the Voice

Create the Hunting Group

Configure the Option according to User Requirements.

Telnet / SSH into U1911.  Note : Only New Version have the Drop List for the UMS No.

Config modify huntinggroup huntno 0 ifnoanswerredirect yes umsno 3


Show Command to verify the setting is executed succesful.

show huntinggroup huntno 0

Add the member in the Hunting Group.

For Subscriber , configure the Call Forward services as the service apply for personal and Hunting Group Voice Mail.

Select the Subscriber and the go to Service Configuration

Go to Complex Service and Choose Forwarding Service

Choose the Forward on no reply,

Enable the Voice Mailbox with Number 3, Wait Time : 20 Second

Note : Service and configuration is base on User Requirements.

After click save, the Option might go back to None. It is ok. User can Telnet into U1911 and Check with command line for verification :

show subscriber dn 1001 type newservice

For Verification , User will call to the Hunting Group Access Number : 33.

When Both Hunting Group User did not answer the Call, the system will forward to Vocie Mail Server.

Caller Can leave the message after hear the Beep Sound.

When the Hunting Group Received the new message, the IP phone will have the MWI LED Light in Red Color.

To retrieve the Voice Message, User Can Choose the Option in the Message

After that, User Can Choose to retrieve the Personal Voice Message or the Hunting Group Message

User need to select the Icon and the selected Icon will be in Blue Color.

Click Call.

For Hunting Group, the System will Call : 12112*33

For Personal Voice Mail Box, the system will Call : 12112

After retrieve or read the Voice Mail, the System MWI light will off.

Below is the different of Group Hunt Voice Mail Storage and Personal Voice Mail Storage.

Hunt Group Voice Message :

Go to Group Service ----> Hunting Group

Personal Voice Message :

Go to VMS statistics
