Check/Change the Run Mode of a Smart IO Card

Publication Date:  2017-10-31 Views:  158 Downloads:  0
Issue Description

Major Alarm ID 0xF0EA0005  "The optical transceiver rate and the port rate of the ETH port (Controller Enclosure CTE0, SmartIO interface module A.IOM1, port number P0/1/2/3, port rate 10Gbit/s, optical transceiver rate 16Gbit/s) do not match. As a result, the port is unavailable."

Alarm Information

Handling Process

1. Asked system logs from the storage for analyzes;

2. Analyzed the logs and found the Run Mode of the Smart IO card was changed to Cluster. The Max Running Speed in Cluster mode is 10 Gbit/s and require a 10 Gbit/s SFP in order to work, but actual SFP was for 16 Gbit/s;

3. To solve this, the run mode of the Smart IO card must be changed back to FC and the alarm will be automatically cleared;

4. Access the storage through CLI and run below commands:

    a. Run show interface_module interface_module_id=CTE0.A.IOM1 - To check the current running mode of the Smart IO card;

    b. Run change interface_module interface_module_id=CTE0.A.IOM1 mode=FC - To change the Run Mode back to FC;

    c. Check if the alarms were cleared from DeviceManager.
