Issue Description

alarm description PwrOk Sig.Drop, possible reason Power supply failure or the motherboard is failed.



Alarm Information

PwrOk Sig.Drop ,the alarm si related the power supply failure or from the motherboard fauly. The server periodically power of itself, even if the Power supply 2 is working fine

Handling Process

Analyzing the logs it seems that the power supply is faulty and also according to the product documentation the motherboard is faulty.


The real problem is related to the Power Supply and need to be changed as soon as possible.


After analyzing the "maintenance_log" the power supply error it can be found:


Need to check the BIOS and IBMC version , and if they are older than V2.8 need to be upgraded to the latest versions

Root Cause

Main root cause is the Power Supply.

This alarm is generated when a voltage sag or an unexpected power failure occurs on the mainboard. Also, is better to check if the BIOS and IBMC is updated.


Need to replace the PSU after following below steps:

-Power off the server, reseat the power
cables, and power on the server

-Place the power cables.
Then check whether the alarm is cleared

-Upgrade the
BIOS and IBMC to the latest version


Need to analyze the logs in order to understand where the problem comes
