Oceanstor 9000 omsftp account invisible

Issue Description

customer can't connect via system reporter with account omsftp. He had changed password for this account, but still he receives error "incorrect login or password". When customer is looking on all accounts in devicemanager he also did not see account omsftp


Handling Process

omsftp account is interior system account that don’t shown on device manager. The account is for system invocation between system application. We can’t use the account directly.
 It should use “admin “ but not “ omsftp” to register device on system report.
The validity period of the password of omsftp is 365 days. It should reset the password when the account expire.


Root Cause

As the omsftp expire , when register the device with “admin” on system report , the system invocate the application with “omsftp” failed. That why it show SSHauthentication failed within 1-3 minutes.
SFTP Account omsftp
Default password: Omsftp@Storage
Description: SFTP is used to:
• Export event and quota information from the DeviceManager.
• Import license file using CLI command.
• Transfer data between SystemReporter and OceanStor 9000.

As the record , customer reset the SFTP password on 21 Nov. So omsftp active again and it can register the device by “admin” on system report successful and run normal until now.


It should login via omuser account and reset password for omsftp
