OceanStor 5800 V3 storage devices reported alarms about a faulty expansion module, a single-link disk enclosure. Even after replacement of the expansion board according to the log it cannot be fixed. The detail alarm information is as following image:
1. Check if the high density disk enclosure is configured. You can check on devicemanager or in running data file
2. Confirm the software version. You can check on devicemanager or in running data file
The storage system sends a command to the disk enclosure expansion module to query the status. The storage system sets the status of the expansion module to logically faulty and report the alarm if command time out.
The scanning process cannot handle properly when there are abnormal situations such disk faulty in high density enclosure. The root cause is that scanning time statistic is not exact and which misjudged SAS link status.
1. If version is V300R003C20SPC200, please install V300R003C20SPH207.
Risky Note: the firmware of expansion board only be effective after reboot the controller. Please confirm the all hosts has path to all controllers. And then reboot the controllers one by one. Make sure to wait until the reboot controller join in the cluster and then reboot the other controller. Waiting for 15 mins, and then check if each expansion boards’ firmware version is 29.01.60.T69 by developer command “show version all”. Note:
only check the “expansion module” part.
