Issue Description

Customer can not input the command "user-interface vty" the message "The user level is too low" appears.

Alarm Information

" The user level is too low "

Handling Process

1.- Confirm the user level of the customer.

 

Root Cause

The customer assign a user level of 3 and the command "user-interface vty" need a user level 15.

 

Solution

Change the user level to lv 15

Suggestions

Sometimes user get confused whit the product documentation explanation, Other explanation to the user levels can be the following:

 

User level 0
- The commands in this level are diagnostic commands such as ping and tracert commands that are used to access a remote device, such as Telnet clients.
- Supports command level 0. 

 

 

User level 1
- The commands in this level are system maintenance commands, such as display commands.
NOTE: Some display commands are not in this level. For example, the commands display-current-configuration and display saved-configuration are at level 3
- Supports command level 0 and 1.

 

 

User level 2
- The commands in this level are the service configuration commands.
- Supports command level 0, 1 and 2.

 

 

User level 3 - 15
- Commands at this level are basic system operation commands that support services, including the file system, FTP, TFTP, user administration commands, command-level configuration commands, and debug commands.
- These users can be customized by the user.
- Supports command levels 0, 1, 2 and 3.
- Note: the "user-interface" command is reserved only for use by Users level 15.
