Authentication when using L2TP over IPsec not working

Publication Date:  2018-06-29 Views:  533 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

Customer configured L2TP over Ipsec and the clients cannot connect through L2TP tunnel. He is trying to connect using many device, android, iphone, PC windows, PC MAC.. and with no one we have connection with the server L2TP.

We’ve checked the following information:

1.       Checked whether there is connectivity between the client and the gateway.

2.       Checked IPsec configuration

3.       Chcked the L2TP configuration and found that customer has tunnel authentication enabled. As described in the documention, IOS, Android, Windows, don’t support L2TP tunnel authentication.

Customer had L2tp tunnel password authentication enabled: [LNS-l2tp1] tunnel authentication enable. He can use it only with our SecolClient. IOS, Android, Windows, don`t support L2tp tunnel password.

In this case, customer should configure: [LNS-l2tp1] undo tunnel authentication
