Unable to get SNMP from RTN 950 NE

Issue Description

Device itself simply refuses connection or something as it also doesn’t work with SNMP v2

Alarm Information

After configuring the SNMP from U2000, we got next error:

OptiX RTN 950 and Solarwinds SNMP polling and the SNMP test fails on the Solarwinds

Handling Process

1. We deleted the SNMP function and created again. Same TRAP error appeared.

2. Collect DC logs files on the NE

3. Connect through Navigator on the NE and collect all the necessary data to analyze the NE configuration, buy running below commands:

After the logs were checked we identify that DCN configuration mode, we advise customer to change it from Service Domain in Management domain.




Root Cause

In the SNMP access scenario, when a customer access through the NMS port, the NMS port is connected to the management domain, but the DCN management mode is the service domain. As a result, the SNMP packet port is unreachable.
