Issue Description

At a site, an S5500T V1 storage system's SFP optical transceivers are not connected to optical fibers. Fault alarms are frequently reported and then automatically cleared in a short time without manual intervention.

Alarm Information

The collected storage log file contains the following information:

Handling Process

Analyze storage logs as follows:

1.Go to the /Event directory of the log package, open the Event.txt file, and search for alarm ID 0xe020b0003. It is found that optical transceiver fault alarms are reported but cleared in a short time.

2.Go to the /Config directory of the log package, open the Config.txt file, find out the corresponding ports, and view their information. It is found that their Link status is Link Down and Vendor name is Hisense.

Information about port H3 on controller A is as follows:

Information about port H3 on controller B is as follows:

From the previous information, it can be inferred that the problem exists.

Root Cause

The time sequence crosstalk occurs in optical transceivers that are not connected to optical fibers. As a result, the optical transceivers' sending power becomes abnormal. After detecting the abnormality, the storage system reports alarms. In the next period of optical transceiver check, the sending power becomes normal and alarms are cleared.

Such alarms are falsely reported. No fault is found in the storage hardware. Based on the software version, implement the corresponding policy:
