Customer wanted to delete an EthTrunk interface on a device. He has deleted the EthTrunk and board rebooted.
No alarm. Board just rebooted. Standard boot procedure was seen in the logs.
1. Check configuration and logbuffer.
Checked logbuffer and board status. Board was rebooted.
The version was V200R001C00SPC700.
2. Check cpu-usage and memory:
CPU utilization statistics at 201X-XX-XX XX:XX:XX 700 ms
System CPU Using Percentage : 26%
CPU utilization for five seconds: 27%, one minute: 24%, five minutes: 14%.
Max CPU Usage : 39%
Max CPU usage is not that big to cause a reset. The time of max cpu usage was a few days prior to reboot.
Memory utilization statistics at 201X-XX-XX XX:XX:XX 724 ms
System Total Memory: 8117628 Kbytes
Total Memory Used: 1422004 Kbytes
Memory Using Percentage: 17%
No abnormal memory status.
3. Collect files from logfile directory and forward to RnD.
Issue a command: “ display diagnostic-information”.
Checked the abnormal memory state from files.
Slot on the board of the CE12800 device , an abnormal reset occurred and the cause of the abnormal reset was located.
Trigger Condition: Delete Eth-Trunk XXX
Root cause: When the Eth-Trunk XXX is deleted, the code bug caused by accessing the memory on the board and triggers an exception reset on the slot X/X.
This is a software bug. An application of the recent patch V200R001SPH017 is needed.

Apply a recent patch
for this version: V200R001SPH017
Prior to installing the patch to avoid such issue, do not delete the EthTrunk Interface and press commit.
