What Are Differences Between V500R001 and V100R001 in Checking RADIUS Server Connectivity When RADIUS Authentication Is Used on a USG6600?

Issue Description

What are differences between V500R001 and V100R001 in checking RADIUS server connectivity when RADIUS authentication is used on a USG6600?

Handling Process

Differences between V500R001 and V100R001 in checking RADIUS server connectivity are as follows:

1. The check commands are different.

In V500R001, run the test-aaa command in the system view; in V100R001, run the radius-server test command in the RADIUS template view.

2. The check mechanisms are different.

In V500R001, check whether the user name and password are correct on the server. In V100R001, check only server connectivity regardless of whether the user name and password are correct on the server.

3. The domain name processing is different.

If undo radius-server user-name domain-included is configured in the RADIUS template, user names without domain names are sent to the RADIUS server in both V500R001 and V100R001.

If radius-server user-name domain-included is configured in the RADIUS template, the firewall in V100R001 adds domain names to user names without domain names before sending the user names to the RADIUS server; the firewall in V500R001 does not add domain names in this case.
