The Eth-Trunk interface running LACP cannot go Up.

Publication Date:  2019-01-24 Views:  211 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

An Eth-Trunk link is established between two devices that support LACP. The two devices run LACP, but the Eth-Trunk link cannot go Up.

Handling Process

Step 1: Cause 1: The number of member interfaces is smaller than the lower threshold.

Run the display trunk-membership eth-trunk command to check member interfaces of an Eth-Trunk interface.

Run the display this command in the Eth-Trunk interface view to check the lower threshold. The default value is 1. Check whether the number of member interfaces is smaller than the lower threshold.

If no, go to step 2.

If yes, run the least active-linknumber command to change the lower threshold.

Step 2: Cause 2: The Eth-Trunk interfaces at both ends of the link are configured to work in passive mode and do not send LACP packets.

Run the display this command in the Eth-Trunk interface view to check whether both ends are configured to work in passive mode. If lacp mode passive is displayed, the Eth-Trunk interface works in passive mode.

If not, go to step 3.

If yes, run the lacp mode active command to configure the Eth-Trunk interface to work in active mode.

Step 3: If the fault persists, contact technical support personnel.

Root Cause

Cause 1: The number of member interfaces is smaller than the lower threshold.

Cause 2: The Eth-Trunk interfaces at both ends of the link are configured to work in passive mode and do not send LACP packets.
