2288H V5: iBMC Not Responding

Publication Date:  2019-02-27 Views:  498 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

Suddenly while the server was operating normally (OS Oracle Linux) the contact (no ping) with IBMC has been lost. iBMC IP settings from Bios checked and everything was correct.

Other Info: Bios Version=0,95
iBMC Version=3.18

Product Name: Huawei Fusion Server 2288H v5

Handling Process

Since the customer had physical access to the server we advised the customer to reset the iBMC using the UID button/indicator.

Root Cause

iBMC not reachable, no PING.

The UID button/indicator helps identify and locate a server in a chassis. You can run commands on the iBMC WebUI to remotely activate the UID indicator or directly press the UID button of a particular server to pinpoint the server location.

  • Steady on: System A is being located.
  • Off: System A is not located.

You can press this button for 4 to 6 seconds to reset the iBMC.
