Handling Process

Check the onsite upgrade process.

The customer chose System Management > Software Upgrade on the web management page and upload the system software package.

The web management page did not respond. The customer closed the web management page and attempted to upgrade the switch using commands.

Root Cause

In a CSS, after the software package was uploaded to the active MPU, the system software package needed to be copied to the other three MPUs.

The customer performed an upgraded on the web management page. Before the upgrade was completed, operations related to the current system software package and the software package for next startup could not be performed.

Before the internal processing of the system was complete, the same operations performed using commands were not allowed.

There is a mechanism of locking upgrade operations on the web management page or CLI to prevent operation conflicts.

Solution

Wait for about 20 minutes, and run the display startup command to verify that the software package for the next startup is correct on the active and standby MPUs.

Run the reboot command. The switch can restart and be upgraded properly.
