In an ME60 (V600R009C20) Dual-Stack Access Scenario, the IPv4 User Goes Offline But the IPv6 Users Is Still Online

Issue Description

An ME60 is deployed on the live network for BAS access. A terminal is connected to the ME60 for dual-stack access, and both the IPv4 and IPv6 addresses are obtained. After the network cable is removed from the terminal, the IPv4 user on the ME60 goes offline, but the IPv6 user is still online.

Handling Process

1.Check information about online users.

Root Cause

By default, the maximum number of detection failures of IPoE users is 5, the detection interval is 30s, and IPv4 and IPv6 users are detected separately. No detection packets are sent when IPoE users have traffic by default.

When IPv4 and IPv6 users share an address pool, whether a user has traffic is detected by prefix. Therefore, the IPv6 user is still online when IPoE dual-stack traffic is interrupted.

Solution

Run the user detect no-datacheck command on the BAS interface to modify the processing mechanism so that detection packets are sent when IPoE traffic exists.
