NAT Configuration Does Not Take Effect for Policy-based Routing on an NE20E-S

Publication Date:  2019-03-27 Views:  206 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

NAT configuration does not take effect for policy-based routing on an NE20E-S.

Handling Process

1.Check whether ARP entries of an interface can be properly learned. Policy-based routing takes effect only after ARP entries are learned.

2.Run the display nat session table verbose command to check whether NAT is configured.

3.Collect traffic statistics on the NE20E-S.

Root Cause

The inbound interface is configured to redirect traffic to the outbound interface. However, after NAT is implemented for the source IP address on the outbound interface, the outbound interface needs to be searched for based on the destination IP address. The communication fails because no static routes or dynamic routes exist.

Solution

In the NAT instance view, configure redirection of traffic to the next-hop IP address in the inbound direction.

[~HUAWEI] nat instance cpe1 id 1
[*HUAWEI-nat-instance-cpe1] redirect ip-nexthop 192.168.1.1 outbound
