Issue Description

During database installation on a HANA appliance, HA configuration fails and the command output shows an error.

Handling Process

Check the command, network, and hostname configuration. In the configuration file, a hostname corresponds to two IP addresses. After the hostname of one IP address is modified, the command is successful.

Root Cause

Three network segments are configured for the two-node HA system. When YaST is used to configure IP addresses, the addresses are configured with hostnames. As a result, two IP addresses in the hosts file have the same hostname and address conflict occurs.

Solution

Modify the hostname information in the /etc/hosts file and ensure that one host name corresponds to one IP address. In this example, the modified hostnames are as follows:

After the configuration file is modified, the command is successful.
