Publication Date:  2019-04-10 Views:  159 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

When Simpana10.0 is used to back up MySQL databases and an SA account is used for interconnection, an incorrect password error is displayed.

Handling Process

1. Log in using a MySQL database account, query the Config File and Socket File paths, and modify the two paths in the guide file to be the actual ones.

2. Open the two correct paths and modify the permissions of the my.cnf and the Socket File to 666 (read-write).

Root Cause

When Simpana is used to back up MySQL databases, the paths to the configuration files in the product documentation is different from the installation paths and the configuration files are read-only.

Correct the paths to the my.cnf and Socket File files of the MySQL databases, modify permissions of the two files to be read-write, and use the SA account for interconnection.

1. When Simpana is used to back up databases, ensure that the password of the SA account is correct and save paths of database files are the actually used ones.

2. When modifying the configuration files, ensure that the database account you use has the execution permission of them.
