FAQ: How Can I Expand the (MySQL) Database Space for Alarms and Events on eSight

Publication Date:  2019-04-12 Views:  172 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

How can I expand the (MySQL) database space for alarms and events on eSight?

On the current network, a large number of devices are managed by eSight. These devices generate a large number of alarms and events. Due to the database space limitation, only alarms or events in a week or a shorter period can be displayed on eSight. To view more alarms or events in a longer period of time, you need to expand the database. (You need to expand the database if you do not want to dump alarms or events. Dumped alarms and events cannot be directly queried on eSight.)

Handling Process

A: To expand the MySQL database space for alarms, perform the following operations:

1. Access the eSight\AppBase\etc\oms.core\databackup.xml file on eSight.

2. Back up the file, and change the OMSFM attribute in the file to 20480. (The default space is 8 GB. You are advised to set the space to 20 GB.)

3. Restart eSight.

PS: OMSPM indicates the performance database space. You can change the value.
