FAQ-After an NE40E Is Configured with BGP GR and the reset bgp Command Is Run, the Peer Device Withdraws Routes

Publication Date:  2019-04-16 Views:  102 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

An NE40E equipped with two main control boards is interconnected with the S6700. Both the NE40E and S6700 are configured with BGP GR. After the reset bgp command is run on the NE40E, the S6700 withdraws BGP routes, which does not meet the expectation.

If the reset bgp command is run to reset BGP on an NE40E, the BGP resetting must be performed in GR mode.

If BGP peers use OSPF, OSPF GR needs to be enabled. If paths are transmitted through MPLS LDP, the GR capability needs to be enabled.
