Failed to Start the eSight Database Instance

Publication Date:  2019-04-17 Views:  155 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

After the database application is restarted, the eSight instance and related files cannot be found. As a result, the eSight database fails to start.

Handling Process

1. Verify that the eSight is newly installed. The involved eSight version and OS are eSight V300R007C00 and SUSE11 Linux, respectively.

2. Replicate the problem in the database deployment phase. The eSight instance and related files are not found after the system is installed and the Oracle database application is restarted.

1) Start the Oracle database.

SQL> startup

ORACLE instance started.

Redo Buffers               39665664 bytes

Database opened.

SQL> qu

SP2-0042: unknown command "qu" - rest of line ignored.

SQL> exit

Disconnected from Oracle Database 11g Release 11.2.0.4.0 - 64bit Production

2) Check whether eSight instance is found.

oracle@esight:~> lsnrctl status
