Multipathing Error Reported During the Installation of UltraPath on an RH8100 V3 Server

Publication Date:  2019-04-17 Views:  136 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

When UltraPath 21.1.0 and Oracle Linux 6.9 are installed on an RH8100 V3 server, an error reporting that the installation is not supported by the kernel is displayed. However, the Oracle Linux 6.9 system is included in the compatibility list.

Handling Process

Run the following commands to query the version information of the Oracle Linux OS as well as its kernel:

 uname -r

 uname -a

 cat /etc/*-release

The query result shows that the OS version is 4.1.12-61.1.28 and its matching kernel version is RHEL6_uek, rather than Oracle Linux 6.9.

Run the ls /etc/ | grep release command. The query result shows that the oracle release file is missing.

Root Cause

The configuration file of the Oracle Linux system is modified. After the standard system configuration is applied, the installation of UltraPath is successful.
