Artifacts Occur on the Live Video of Huawei 4K Cameras

Publication Date:  2019-04-20 Views:  103 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

When the maximum bit rate of a Huawei 4K camera is changed to 10 Mbit/s and the resolution is 4096 x 2160, artifacts and black screen occur during live video browsing and video playback.

Handling Process

Packet loss and disorder occur on the network.

Root Cause

Disorder occurs on the network. In addition, the onsite ground is paved with small square tiles, causing a large I-frame. The I-frame cannot be decoded after a network fault occurs. As a result, artifacts occurs. The black screen and frame freezing are of the same cause, but the lost packets are different. Network disorder may be caused by high network pressure and high instantaneous bit rate.

Go to the camera web UI and choose Settings > Network > Intelligent Acceleration > Stream Smooth Parameters.
Select the corresponding code stream for the stream type.
Adjust Stream smoothing coefficient (the larger the value, the less the occurance of artifacts).
