Issue Description

No patch is installed on an NE20E-S4 V800R007C10SPC100.

The board in slot 1 has two interfaces. After the display interface brief command is run, only one interface can be displayed in the command output and the other interface is unavailable.

Handling Process

1. Check that the device version is V800R007C10SPC100, no patch is installed, and the device can be started properly.

2. Check that boards can be registered properly.

3. Check that the type of the board in slot 1 is 2-port OC-3c/STM-1c (or 1-port OC-12c/STM-4c) POS-SFP physical interface card.

4. View the product document. It is found that such boards can be configured with only one interface if the bandwidth is 622 Mbit/s and with two interfaces if the bandwidth is 155 Mbit/s.

5. Check that the following configuration exists:

set  service-mode port-rate  622 slot 1

6. Check that the interface board has been changed to support 622 Mbit/s. Therefore, only one interface can be used on the board. To allow the board to be configured with two interfaces, run the following command:

set  service-mode port-rate  155 slot 1

Root Cause

The NMS has changed the interface rate to 622 Mbit/s. In case of the interface rate of 622 Mbit/s, the interface board can be configured with only one interface. In case of the interface rate of 155 Mbit/s, the interface board can be configured with two interfaces.

Solution

If the customer wants to use two interfaces with the traffic rate of 155 Mbit/s on the interface board, run the following command:

set  service-mode port-rate  155 slot 1

If the customer wants to use two interfaces with the traffic rate of 622 Mbit/s on the interface board, purchase a new interface board.
