FAQ-After the Same Traffic Policy Is Applied to Different Sub-Interfaces on an NE40E to Limit Rates, Why Are the Actual Rates of the Sub-Interfaces Lower Than the Rate Limit Value?

Publication Date:  2019-04-22 Views:  93 Downloads:  0

Issue Description

Different DSCP values are marked for different flows on the inbound interface, and different rate limit values are configured to match the DSCP values in the outbound direction of 16 sub-interfaces. However, after the traffic policy is applied, the rate of physical interface is changed to the rate limit value in the traffic policy. As a result, the rate of each sub-interface is lower than the rate limit value.

The sharing mode is used by default in the traffic policy view. Multiple physical interfaces or sub-interfaces use the rate limit values in sharing mode. Therefore, the rate limit of each sub-interface takes effect only after the following commands are run to disable the sharing mode:

<HUAWEI> system-view
[HUAWEI] traffic policy test
[HUAWEI-trafficpolicy-test] undo share-mode
